Recently, Multiplayer Producer Jamie Keen took some community members through Bad Company and into some unseen multiplayer territory!
If you were at EA’s headquarters in Redwood Shores on Friday, April 18th, you may have heard some loud rumbling, or have even seen a wall explode with a crescendo of gunfire… This wasn’t remodeling, this was just the Battlefield: Bad Company Community Day.
Since the BFBC BETA launched on Xbox LIVE, the community has been dying to get its hands on more maps and play some more of the unseen areas within the game. Finally, they had their chance. Jamie Keen, the lead multiplayer Producer at DICE was on hand at EARS to show everyone how they could best use destructible environments to their advantage in combat. Additionally, he spent part of the day showing the community the great new single player campaign in Bad Company. Everyone was really excited to get more information on the single player mode as Battlefield is known for its multiplayer combat. Needless to say everyone was extremely excited about the story-driven campaign, and the only thing that could take their minds off of it was an 8-on-8 Multiplayer Tournament.
After we balanced out the teams we got going on 5 rounds of multiplayer mayhem. Each round, both sides had the chance to both play offensively and defensively on a never before seen multiplayer map. At the end of each round the winning team got a bounty of Swedish candy (not just Swedish fish), and the losers received some less familiar Swedish delicacies, like canned Fishballs and pickled lobster.
